365 Days of Art: Day 114- Drawing a Nespresso Pod

The challenge: Create some form of visual art, no matter how small, each day for a full year.

This week has been the week for small art projects. I keep hoping for time throughout the day to work in things, but it never materializes.

Today, I got my daughter in to bed on time, but she told me she liked it when I laid down with her because then she didn’t feel scared, so I ended up staying with her until she fell a sleep. I think I fell asleep too, because it’s 10:24. Looks like a drawing day.

I decided to draw a Nespresso capsule. I like Nespresso, and I wanted to see how drawing a circle on its side from life instead of from a picture on the phone would work.

Here is the actual Nespresso pod:

Something I realized as I took this picture…. I can’t get the picture to look like the same angle, no matter where I position the iPhone. Apparently, this having two eyes thing is more important than I thought. My left eye sees more of the left side, and my right eye captures more of the right side. They both form a seamless picture in my brain. My iPhone, however, has only one lens., so it can only get one angle. Therefore, if I want the photo to include the back of the Nespresso pod, the front circle will be at a smaller angle in the picture than what I actually see.

Daily Yoga: today I did this HIIT yoga video from Fightmaster Yoga.
