The challenge: Create some form of visual art, no matter how small, each day for a full year. My apologies for all the drawings instead of watercolors. This week has been crazy, and I’ve got a two-week vacation starting Saturday that I have been packing for. I’ve also had lots of guests and kids over.
I finished this one early tonight while my daughter was in her bath. I have gotten to bed too late the past few nights, and I need to get to bed earlier tonight. I chose a pearl pendant.
- I like doing watercolor pearls better than drawing them. The water definitely helps create a luster. I tried layering this one and using a kneaded eraser, but I don’t thing it worked as well as I hoped.
- I tried adding in a shadow, but it looked really bad so I erased it. (That’s why it’s so fuzzy around the pearl.)
- Using a tiny pearl pendant can create a problem if it’s too close to your hand. I knocked this one so many times it was hard to get it back to the original angle. So lesson learned. Keep whatever you are drawing away from your hand.
Anyway, here it is, with the pendant.

Have a great evening folks! Tomorrow is Friday!
