365 Days of Art: Day 240: Watercolor Clouds

The challenge: Create some form of visual art, no matter how small, each day for a full year.

I’m working on a project called “Dreaming in the Clouds” from the book, Dreamscapes Fantasy Worlds by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. I had previously created cloud blooms using alcohol, and tonight I darkened the areas around the highlights I made in a different day. I personally don’t like the alcohol method for clouds. I think it makes everything to permanent almost. I prefer dropping water in off my brush.

Anyway, I’m short on time, so I’m going to finish this up and upload the picture for you. The two little ones are the hot press paper and the others are cold press. I’m thinking I probably prefer the cold press, but we will see.

So far, thought the hot press stays wetter longer, the cold press seems to make the clouds look more natural.

That’s it for today. Have a great evening, folks!
